It's good to know someone who shares in the same interests as you. Luckliy for me, I got to meet a similar Armored Core fan, Vskyeno's brother, Anthony. On Friday I got the chance to go face to face against him. The battles were fierce and extended. I have to commend Anthony's use of missles and dual wielding weapons. In the end, it was yours truly that came out victorious. With the month of March and A.C. 4 approaching, I plan to challenge him again and continue the ferocity. Until then, I have A.C.: Last Raven to entertain me.

The future of Hi-Def gaming has arrived in full brunt. An XBox 360 looms in my future; reasonable price, one year experience over the other systems, online capabilitites and availability of consoles and games strengthen the choice I plan to make. One of the games I have been observing, Armored Core 4 is making its way to the 360. Being a massive fan of the series, I would like to play the game on a Hi-Def system. This game has received a gigantic overhaul and it seems to be coming along very nicely. You can see the differences below; I have tried adding Youtube videos on here, but my formatting gets messed up, SORRY!!!

In a shocking twist of events, Apple almost killed me. It turns out that my iBook's battery is part of the bad batch of batteries sent to several companies by Sony. If not replaced, the battery could burn the laptop or explode. This probably answers why my laptop gets hot really fast and why the battery loses its charge quickly. Looks like portability is out of the question for 4-6 weeks.

Hollywood Highsteppin'

Saturday night, J-Dog, Vskyeno, Daniel, Dani, and I find ourselves at MOCA: Night Vision. Expecting this exhibit to be entertaining, it was lacking in variety as well as quantity. In an attempt to fully utilize the time at hand, we head on over to Hollywood. Not only was it packed on this night, it was warm and filled with hunger. Parting our ways, Daniel and I head on over to McDonalds and place an order. By far, this establishment had the worst service yet. Upon receiving our order, we reunite with the other group and begin our buffet. 2 pizzas and 2 burgers later, we begin to walk to burn off our calories. The remainder of the night ensued laughter, jokes, and discussions of certain topics. Pictures can be found on Flickr. On Saturday, I went to a concert. That in itself says a lot. It was a good show. There was a lot of people as well as decibels filling the arena. If I seem to be asking you to repeat yourself this week, don't be surprised. I was at least 20-25 feet away from a fully blasted speaker system, so my ears are recovering. Yesterday I went paintballing with Dani. I had a good time. As we got there, our fun was delayed due to the fact that a lot of private groups were going ahead of us. Once we got on the field, the game was mediocre. It wasn't until the third game that things started getting interesting. Later on we progressed to participate on a 9 vs 9 stadium game. This by far was the best match I've ever had in paintballing. It also made me realize that my current weapon of choice was just not going to cut it anymore, especially since it is not shooting accurately. That being said, I am selling two paintball guns. Please help in spreading this and help poor old Bryan save up enough to get this beauty.

Weekend Bonanza

The group and I went to see The Da Vinci Code. It was a good movie, although it was 2:30 hours long. Today, Daniel R, Mike, and I went Rock Climbing. A fun day as well, although we came out with our hands glowing red and our muscles tired. I myself find it hard to grip certain things, but I'll live. A couple of aspirin and some sleep should patch me up.

Worst Movie (So Far)

I had hopes for this movie, but what I got is a flaming disaster. First off, the movie is almost completely CG and personally, I believe this killed the whole "horror" aspect. The music was taken from the game, but if it was remixed with live instruments, it would have been better, and less annoying. The plot is confusing, but if you follow the dialogue, it's pretty predictable. All this movie has is gore, and there is a fair amount of it in the movie. Overall, I think I could have wasted my money elsewere.

Looks like I really hurt myself Seat Surfing with Daniel Drac. Here is a rundown of what I know is damaged:

Bruise on left side of right knee

Bruise and burns from clothes on upper left thigh

Pulled muscles surrounding left knee

Slight soreness on right tricep

Right now if I put any weight on my left leg near my knee, it feels like it's going to collapse. I'm getting too old too fast.

Judging from what many people have said, the restaurant trip, while unexpected, was fun and tasty. So I started thinking "Why not try to make it something that happens regularly, someting like a monthly or bimonthly event?" I propose we do this sometime at the end of this month or before Christmas Break. Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated, so start thinking on where and when.

So I go to the bowling alley and find everyone in the parking lot. I'm like "Okay, they are waiting for us, no biggie". I find that I was wrong. Apparently the bowling alleys are packed, and the only available opening was at 9:30 P.M. So much for Daniel's idea. We advance to a restaurant, Acapulco. Once there, we realize that everyone is watching us, as if we were going to "dine and dash", which we were thinking about. Anyways, we all get our food and beging eating. When they mean a Burrito Grande, they mean it. Mike couldn't finish it. We get the waiters and have them sing to Daniel for his birthday. Later on, we find ourselves at the Del Amo Mall. We all go our separate ways. Daniel and I find ourselves at a Sword Shop. The things people sell for money. I set my eyes on Fantasy Sword Concepts and decided to earn some cash to acquire one. Daniel had his eyes on some Medieval Concepts. While is it legal to own a sword, it is illegal to own Double Edged Sword. The shop sells them, but at the buyer's risk. I guess this is what Daniel is going to get himself as a gift. All in all, it was a good night, especially since I got a massage from a chair for one dollar.

Music Madness

This whole weekend, I've been practicing on my guitar. I'm actually surprised that I made some progress. I know a couple of simple melodies and I actually know how to play a solo. My technique requires more finese, but I am gradually getting there. So far, my fingers are in pain and numb, my wrists are stiff, and my upper body is stiff as well. I forgot to do my homework, but I'll do it eventually, although I don't think I have to because tomorrow is Columbus Day. Are we going to school tomorrow? I hope not. I could use the sleep.

These past days have been particularly slow. Not much has happened apart from the fact that I got paid and I went on a little shopping spree today, but even then it wasn't like a "shop 'til you drop" scenario. Iowa testing is this week, which means more home time for us and less school time. I also worked with Ms. Villanueva's fourteen year old sister on Monday, which was very unexpected. Anyone who knows Ms. Villanueva knows that she is very moody, yet that mood gene must have only went to her because her sister is actually very calm and interesting to say the least. No Dani, you don't have a chance, so don't pester me with giving you more information than needed. I guess you can say this was the pinnacle of the week, but you never know. I might even have a chance of beating Palko's math score on the Iowa test, if at all possible.

Looks like all the action of Hollywood and Citywalk wear down even the best of us. I was being hypnotized by the passing blue lights in the Los Angeles Underground and at the same time being tired. Dani was just being Dani, showing off his iPod Photo, which would have been cheaper if he would have waited a bit longer. Mike decided that the Metro Train is as good as his bed and decided to call it a night. Good times....

Damn Hill

I went to Cross Country Practice today. This is something I actually was looking foward to. Several people were there, but there were only a few I recognized like David, Jesus, and Daniel M.( he actually went!) Once we get to Griffith Park, we warm up and do the usual. It's until I start jogging up a hill that destroyed me. It is such an incline and it gets worse going up. Once on top, you're just thankful you didn't collapse or trip. I barely had enough energy to keep going on with the trail, but I actually ran some more distance. It just went to prove that I wasn't in good enough shape. I need the training. I have 3 weeks before the 1st meet, and by that time I must be in good shape to be on a competitive edge.

Campus Updates

Today at school, many people have noticed the new things at the Verb. One of the most noticable is that fellow colleague Wagner has ditched the old hairstyle and decided to "slick back" his hair. A fairly ideal revelation for him. Coincidently, Mike's cell phone has begun displaying Matrix imagery. Could it be that he is getting closer to the truth? Only time will tell. In another note, the staff and academics themselves have been improved in an effort to try and become more competitive with other college prepatory schools. Such an example of this is the introduction of Honors classes and one AP class. While this is a good effort by the administration, it still has much to improve, as opiniated by the student body. In a turn of events, CWSP has been announced that it will count as an elective. While this is not settling well with the students, it was a change that was inevitable. Incidentally, the school has decided to invest in technology by purchasing a large number of laptops to provide technological competence to the student body. This is a change that all, including me, are looking foward to. In light of all these events, I got stuck with a crappy job, something I am not happy with. Why is it CWSP discriminates the student body, I will never know. This is the only change that the school missed. Hopefully they will realize their error and fire the CWSP staff, especially Mrs. Villanueva.

3 weeks of working nonstop and not a cent in my pocket. You got to love those people in charge of the payroll. Take Jonathan for example (the one with glasses). He has received 600 dollars from the CWSP office for nothing. It just came to his home. Lucky guy. I need some of his luck. I need more sleep. I need an Intel equipped Powerbook. I just need my money! Apart from all that, I also need suggestions for what to do with my money (if it ever gets in my hands). I am thinking clothes, paintball gun, a new girlfriend for Wagner, a prayer group for Daniel, Richard Simmons for Dani, better footwear for Chris. I need ideas.

These past few days have been very active for me. At work, we are moving offices for a while due to the construction that will abe taking place soon. This means everyone has to move files and stuff all day, nonstop. I pulled a muscle because of that. I'm doing better now. Today I come home to find a jumper/moonbounce in my backyard. I get on it as soon as possible and begin jumping away. As simple as jumping is, it is very exhausting, especially when one is trying to jump high. It is also one of the simple pleasures of life. Now I have to rest because the jumper/moonbounce is being taken away as I type. Sucks.
